WOWLife Church
movement that began in
Sri Lanka
Reformation
WOWlife Church, a reformation movement that began in Sri Lanka amongst a group of friends who were drawn together by the club circuit of Colombo’s night-life: However, everything changed when Kirby and Fiona de Lanerolle received a prophetic word from a pastor who had come to Sri Lanka to help with tsunami rehabilitation work. At the time, Kirby and Fiona were young business people with successfully planted companies in Dubai and Sri Lanka. Kirby was also an executive advisor to the Minister of Fisheries in Sri Lanka, as well as being in charge of the FAO aquaculture program. Fiona was a partner in one of Sri Lanka’s known media companies. Despite their busy lives, the prophetic call beckoning their hearts to lead a people into the Kingdom of His Son was irrefutable. Fast forward 18 years, and today Kirby and Fiona are the co-founders of WOWLife Church, Their spiritual father and Pastor Neil and Savi Obeysekara cover their ministry. The friends they partied with are co-founders and also leaders and coaches. A visit to Sri Lanka or a WOWLife World event will give you an opportunity to meet the amazing friends and dynamic characters who alongside Kirby and Fiona first ignited this refreshing and vibrant movement. Not only them, but now the many wonderful others who came around subsequently to give their all and add their flavour to the WOW reformation that is taking the world by storm. They have built a community that is centered around the word of God, the prophetic, trauma-informed positive psychology who desire to see people flourish and thrive. Kirby and Fiona are deeply committed to their faith and have pursued academic qualifications in law, theology, and flow science. They have also continued their education through postgraduate studies in neuroscience, positive psychology, mental health, and theology. The ADC
A unique
Episcopal
body with a heart to train and advocate the free churches
The Apostolic Diocese of Ceylon (ADC) is a unique episcopal body with a heart to train and advocate for the free church minority rights. It was founded in response to the heart cries of the persecuted free church in SL. According to a 2016 report 8% of violence and “threats and intimidation, accounting for 44 per cent of incidents, while harassment by state officials accounts for 35 per cent of incidents. Often a causal link exists between these two categories”. The stats reveals the necessity of advocacy In order to address this pressing need, Bishop Paul T Maran of the Indian National Apostolic Diocese invited Kirby de Lanerolle to oversee the establishment of the ADC in Sri Lanka. Under Kirby de Lanerolle’s leadership, the ADC made history by unifying a large number of free churches in a short period of time, growing to over 600 churches within just nine months. Kirby’s ordination as bishop was witnessed by His Excellency President Ranil Wickremasinghe, who was then the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. For the first time in Sri Lanka’s history, a government-sanctioned officer was appointed to coordinate the activities of the free and independent churches, and Kirby de Lanerolle has held this position to this day. Despite these achievements, the free churches in Sri Lanka have yet to be fully recognized and the ADC continues to advocate for their fundamental rights. Despite the challenges they have faced, the ADC remains committed to its mission of serving the people of Sri Lanka and promoting the values of the free and independent churches.
